   History of Milton, ON

Milton (population of 110,128) is a city in Southern Ontario, Canada, and is part of the Halton District in the Greater Toronto Area. Between 2001 and 2011 Milton was the fastest-growing municipality in Canada, with a 71.4% increase from 2001 to 2006 and a further 56.5% increase from 2006 to 2011. In 2016, Milton's population was 110,128 with an estimated growth of 228,000 by 2031. It remained the fastest growing community in Ontario but was considered to be the sixth fastest-growing population in Canada at the time.

By 1869, Milton had 1,000 people. Records from 1874 show that Milton owned regional buildings, a telephone office, a foundation, leather hides, a fur factory, a grist mill and a cutting machine, a weekly newspaper, and many shops.

In the early 1900s, Milton was well-known for his work on P. Robertson Manufacturing Company, the first to make head-to-head screws. Although established in Hamilton in 1907, the business relocated to Milton in 1908. P.L. Robertson was the founder of a square with screws.

The area was traditionally known for quarrying and the production of building materials such as lime, limestone, and bricks, which began in the 1880s. These industries were very important in the province and, in their heyday in the early 20th century, employed hundreds of people in Milton Heights and Peru.

Transportation and Logistics Market in Milton, ON

The Canada National Railway plans to build an "intermodal" or "truck" station in the southern suburbs (along the Tremaine Rd., Britannia Rd. And Lower Base Line) to be used to transport goods between trucks and trains. According to a news report in late July 2019, the program was controversial with "local mayors and residents voicing opposition to potential outbreaks and environmental impacts" due to the "approximately 1,600 daily truck traffic" required at the center. Public hearings had been completed by then. The three-member panel was due to submit its recommendations before 2020 to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. The Halton district has also called for the planned building and announced another area of concern by the end of 2018.

In addition, CN has only unveiled its 400-hectare plans on-site; has not disclosed its plans for the remaining 800 hectares. We have decided that the activities of this site can be significantly expanded which will significantly increase the impacts on residents and the community.

The history of Milton is rich and bountiful when it comes to growth and economic expansion currently the city is absolutely bustling with new developments in housing and commercial space.
