The settlement of the early settlers had to make the area and much logging took place, much to the consternation of the locals. The juniper tree, the cedar, and the hemlock have not been touched for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years. Still, the residents continued, and little by little, Surrey began to form. It is thought to be called Surrey because England's H J Brewer, one of the founders, believed that it was similar to Surrey in England. Surrey was installed in 1879 and included the various races that still exist today.
Growing up
Surrey is located at a crossroads that has helped it grow and improve over the years. Indeed, it is located at the intersection of the Pacific Rim, Vancouver, and the United States border. In 1937 the Pattullo Bridge was erected, which opened the door to Surrey's expansion. In the 1950s, it became a passenger town for people who wanted to go to Vancouver or Burnaby but did not want to stay. During the 1980s and 1990s, people from all over Canada and Asia flocked there to take advantage of the expansion in western Canada / the United States.
In September 1993 Surrey was declared a city, with six metropolitan areas - North Surrey, Newton, Fleetwood, Guildford, Cloverdale, and South Surrey. The population is now 425,000 and is expected to be the largest city in British Columbia soon, surpassing Vancouver. It can offer residents a lot, including green open space. There are many cultural and recreational areas. About 35% of the city is still cultivated, so there is a sense that it remains faithful to its roots while developing. However, there is a very different power than the way it was when the First Generation was the only people in the area. Locations continue, but the original legacy mustn't be forgotten.
Surrey is one of the biggest growing markets for transportation and logistics, it has plenty of industrial place and new land being developed every day. Large corporations are moving into the area and looking to setup their base of operations in Surrey. The next 10 years will see Surrey grow into a national hub for goods and services and we at Dynafix are here to help support and help nurture the explosive growth that Surrey has experienced over the years.
